What each finding means
After each check, every live ad lands in one of 4 tabs on the dashboard. Each ad also shows a plain sentence saying why.
The 4 tabs
- Violations: the ad is live, or about to go live, without a valid license. Pause it in Ads Manager, or fix the license: renew it, add the missing channel or asset, or add a license for the creator.
- Expiring: the ad is covered, but its license ends within your alert window: the largest of your alert days, 14 by default. Renew it or plan to pause.
- Untracked: the ad runs from an account you marked as yours, or from no Instagram account, and isn't linked to any license. If it uses creator content, link it.
- OK: a valid license covers the ad.
The reasons behind a violation
- The license ended: the end date has passed and the ad is still running.
- The license was revoked.
- The ad is running before the license start date.
- The license doesn't cover this kind of ad: for example a partnership ad on a license that only allows paid re-uploads.
- The ad runs as a licensed creator, but Lapse couldn't tie it to any of the licensed posts or videos. If it is one of them, add its post, video or ad ID to the license, or put the license tag in the ad name.
- It's a partnership ad running as a creator, and no license on file covers it.
Coverage
Coverage is the share of checked ads that a valid license covers: OK plus Expiring, divided by every ad in the 4 tabs. Paused and other skipped ads don't count.
Expiring countdowns
The end date is the last day the ad may run. On that day the ad shows as ending today; the day after, it's a violation.
