About

We do one thing: find zombie ads.

Lapse exists so that no creator ad runs past the license behind it. A zombie ad is a creator ad still running after its usage license ended: dead on paper, still spending.

Why this problem exists

Creator content became the backbone of paid social. Every video is licensed per channel and per window, and those terms live in spreadsheets. The ads live in Ads Manager, where winners get duplicated, re-cut and scaled into new ad sets. Nothing connects the two, and revoking a partnership code doesn't stop ads that are already running.

Why it needed its own tool

The gap sits between three kinds of software, and each stops just short of it:

Ad platforms check ads against their own policies, not against your contracts.

Rights trackers record when each license ends, but never look at what's live.

Creator platforms manage the deal, then lose sight of the content once it's duplicated into new ad sets.

It's too specific for any of them to own. So Lapse owns it, and does nothing else.

What we believe

Your contract is the source of truth.

Not a platform setting someone typed in. Lapse checks live ads against the dates and channels you actually licensed.

See as little as possible.

Read-only access, ad metadata only, encrypted tokens. Agencies trust us with client accounts; we act like it.

Every finding has a next step.

Pause, renew or link a license. An alert you can't act on is noise.

Find it before the creator does.

The Meta Ad Library is public. The point is to know first, while an extension is still a friendly ask.

Where we're going

  1. TodayEvery live Meta ad matched to its license, with email and Slack alerts.
  2. NextOpt-in automatic pausing, once Meta approves the permission it needs. Per account and per license, logged, one-click undo.
  3. LaterTikTok Spark Ads and more of the platforms creator content runs on.

Lapse is an independent software company based in San Francisco.
