Lapse ("we") runs Lapse, a tool that checks your live Meta ads against the usage rights you hold for creator content. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address, your organization name, time zone and settings.
- Your licenses: the usage-rights details you enter or upload (creator handles, optional creator email, asset labels and IDs, dates, channels).
- Meta ad data (read-only,
ads_read): for the ad accounts you choose, we read ad metadata: ad ID, name, status, ad account ID, and creative identifiers such as the Instagram account, media and video IDs the ad uses. We do not read ad performance, audiences, or payment details. - Meta access token: stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM). It is never shown, logged, or shared.
- Billing: handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, never your card number.
- Slack (optional): if you connect Slack, we store your Slack webhook URL encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and post alert summaries (ad names, creators and license status) to that channel. Disconnect it any time in Settings.
What we do with it
Only to run the service: compare your live ads to your licenses on your plan's schedule, show the results in your dashboard, and send you alerts by email and, if you connect it, Slack. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the providers that run the service: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments), and Slack if you connect it. Each one only processes data to provide its part of the service.
Cookies and tracking
We set one cookie: the sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in. We don't use analytics, advertising pixels, session recording or other trackers, and our fonts are served from our own website, not loaded from a third-party font service. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and troubleshooting.
Children
Lapse is a business tool for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
We don't change your ads
Lapse only reads ads. It does not post, edit or pause ads. If an optional auto-pause feature is offered in the future, it will be off unless you turn it on, and it will need separate permission from Meta.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and your Meta access token and Slack webhook are encrypted at rest. Each organization can only see its own data. If a security incident affects your information, we'll tell you by email without undue delay, and as the law requires.
How long we keep it
- Daily ad snapshots: 90 days.
- Findings (the daily report history): 2 years.
- Licenses and settings: until you delete them or your organization.
Deleting your data
Delete your organization any time in Settings → Delete organization, or email support@trylapse.io. See Data deletion for details.
