Add a creator license

What to fill in

Go to Licenses → Add license. You need:

• A license ID: your own reference for the deal, like L-100. Letters, digits, - and _ only.
• The creator's handle, and their email if you want Lapse to draft renewal requests.
• The creator's Instagram user ID (optional). Lapse needs it to spot ads that run as the creator, and for licenses that cover any content from the creator.
• The start date and end date. The end date is the last day the ad may run. Leave it blank if the license never ends.
• The channels it covers: Meta partnership ads (runs with the creator's handle), Meta paid re-upload (runs from your own handle), or both. Organic reposts is for your records only; it doesn't cover any Meta ad.
• What it covers: only the assets you list, or any content from this creator.

Assets: the posts and videos the deal covers

Each asset is one piece of content. Give it a label you'll recognize, and any of the Instagram post, Meta video, creative or ad that uses it. The more you add, the more ads Lapse can match on its own.

Don't have the numbers? Leave them blank. After the first check, ads from your own account that Lapse couldn't match show up under Untracked, and you can link each one to its license in one click. Partnership ads that don't match a license show under Violations instead: fix those by adding the creator's Instagram user ID or the ad ID to the license, or by putting the license tag in the ad name.

Renew or revoke

When you renew a deal, open the license, mark it renewed and enter the new end date. Ads running on it show as covered again on the next check, as long as nothing else is wrong.

If a creator withdraws permission, revoke the license on its page. From the next check, any ad still running on it is flagged, whatever the dates say, unless another valid license covers it.
