For brands and agencies running creator ads

Stop paying for creator ads you're no longer allowed to run.

You pay creators to run their videos as ads, but only for a set time. Lapse checks your live Facebook and Instagram ads and tells you which ones ran past that time.

How it works

3 steps. Then Lapse keeps watching.

  1. 01

    Add your creator deals

Add each creator's video and the date your rights end. Upload our sheet template, or add them by hand. For the free audit, send your sheet as it is.

  2. 02

    Connect your ad account

Give Lapse view-only access to your Meta ad accounts. It can see your ads, never edit them. It pauses an ad only if you turn on auto-pause.

  3. 03

Get an alert when an ad runs out

Lapse checks your live ads every 1 to 6 hours, depending on your plan. When an ad runs past its end date, you get an email. On Agency and Scale, you get a Slack message too.

What you get

A short list of ads to fix, and what to do about each.

When an ad keeps running after the creator's rights end, the creator may bill you for the extra time. We call these zombie ads. Lapse finds them for you.

FAQ

Common questions

What are zombie ads?

A zombie ad is a creator ad that's still running after its usage license ended. Usage rights are your permission to run a creator's video as an ad, for a set time. When that time is up and the ad keeps running, the creator may bill you for the extra months. Extending the rights once the ad is already live typically costs 60–75% of the original fee (2026 creator rate data, compiled by Gigapay).

Does Lapse change or pause my ads?

Not unless you ask it to. By default Lapse is view-only: it tells you which ads to pause, with a link to each one. Auto-pause is opt-in, and it opens to every account once Meta approves the pause permission. When it's on, Lapse pauses only ads clearly tied to an ended or revoked license (by a link you made, a tag in the ad's name, or the Instagram post itself), logs every pause, and lets you undo it in one click. It never creates or edits ads.

How is this different from a rights tracker or a spreadsheet?

A tracker tells you when a deal ends. Lapse checks which ads are still running after that date, including copies of the ad in other ad sets. Keep your tracker. You can import it into Lapse.

What data can Lapse see?

Only basic facts about each ad: its name, whether it's running, which ad account it's in, which creator's post or video it uses, and the ad's text and links. Lapse doesn't read your spend, your audiences or your payment details.

Doesn't turning off a creator's partnership code stop the ads?

No. It stops new ads from using that content. Ads that are already running keep going until someone pauses them. That's how zombie ads happen.

Does it work with TikTok?

Not yet. Lapse checks Facebook and Instagram ads today, where most creator ads run. TikTok is on the list.

I'm a creator. Is this for me?

Lapse is built for the brands and agencies that run the ads. Creators can use our free tools: the zombie ads check shows which brands still run your videos after your license ends, and the fee calculator helps you price your deals.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Start with a free audit of one ad account. Send your rights sheet as it is, even if it's messy, and you get a report within 48 hours. No card needed.
